Vp9 Hk Review - I recently reviewed the H&K VP9 and I really like the pistol - the quality and features are all top-of-the-line. As a defense pistol, it has a level of refinement seen competitively only in high-end Sig Sauers and Walthers, but it has unique features for H&K. The P30 line is one of H&K's most popular lines of pistols and is the benchmark of quality in polymer defense pistols. That being said, H&K fans want H&K's current product for shooting options built into the ergonomics and P30's magazine. H&K introduced the very popular VP9 and now expands the line with this VP9 Professional model with a threaded barrel. What sets the VP9 apart from other Heckler & Koch pistols is its affordable price tag and is the company's first $700 pistol in recent history.
Now that suppressors are becoming more popular, citizens are asking for guns that are ready. The Tactical model is about $200 more than the original VP9 model.
Vp9 Hk Review
Basically, the H&K VP9 Tactical is similar to the original VP9 model with a surprisingly long trigger break and short trigger reset. The VP9 continues to offer flexible back and side straps to create an adjustable handle and a large charging notch to help the device quickly. Full grippy design with ambi-slide and paddle mag release brought to the VP90 Tactical Model, as well as light features.

There are only two differences between the VP9 and VP9 Tactical. The H&K VP9 Tactical features a threaded barrel and according to H&K the tactical model does not use an O-ring assisted lockup like other H&K models. It is suspected that the O-ring causes problems when the suppressor is attached and slightly reduces the accuracy of the barrel-slide lockup. Barrel threading is infuriating but well thought out 13.5 × 1 LH thread. The purpose behind the left hand thread is to not allow the suppressor or other muzzle accessories to come loose when fired due to the twist of the right hand barrel. It works but it annoys me that I have to buy and switch back and forth between the European standard 13.5 × 1 LH and the US standard. 1 / 2-28 thread adapter for my Liberty Mystic X press instead so I can do a direct exchange like I can in between. some of my 9mms.
There were early rumors that the VP9 had very weak performance. I was informed at this year's SHOT show that all current models have the same spring I saw on this Tactical VP9.
Although H&K has always been a little behind the curve in keeping up with the US market, now it may be a little ahead of the curve and the pending Test Security Act has a good chance of becoming law. This is a stable and tested host.
The VP9 Tactical is well equipped with 2 mags and rear and side panels.

I find the VP9 line of pistols very accurate with 124gr ammo. In our recent tactical training we had a drill where we had to run from barricade to barricade and get out and fire two shots at a steel body placed at 15 yards. After the first run and with my confidence pumped into the VP9 Tactical, I ran the course twice more and delivered quick head shots twice. VP9s are very accurate and have more accurate ammo than my stock Glocks.
The VP9 pistol represents everything we've asked and complained about about our Glocks and the striker-fired pistol calibers previously represented in the Walther PPQ. The VP9 Tactical, however, is not a Walther or a Glock or a Sig Sauer: it is a Heckler & Koch with a heritage of high quality, unlimited durability and reliability, and superior innovation. H&K didn't hit a homerun with this pistol alone, as expanding this model to capture the new suppression market with the Fire Safety Act pending was a smart move by H&K.

Although they haven't been in the pistol game for some time, H&K is not new to the concept, having pioneered the VP70 and P7 models more than three decades earlier. Released respectively in 1970 and 1979, this first round gun was unusual at that time, as the striker-fired performance would not begin to see mass acceptance until later years. The VP70 is notable for being the first polymer pistol in production, predating the first Glocks by more than a decade. Both pistols enjoy good reception and acceptance, and solid service history. In some cases, the P7 managed to stay in production until 2008, almost thirty years after its introduction. After P7's retirement in '08, Heckler and Koch saw the writing on the wall. Although hammer guns and steel frames were by no means obsolete at the time, the market demand was clear. Polymer frames and bolt-on firing mechanisms come standard and are must-have offerings if manufacturers hope to compete in the firearms market. With the request of the Bavarian State Police to renew their arsenal of aging P7s, in 2010 the German company returned to work in this area.
The two versions of the VP9 I tested in this review were the Tactical model and the L, or long slide model.

The VP9 Tactical comes as shown here, with a factory optic-cut slide, threaded barrel, and now 17-round mags instead of 15, as they used to come with.
The idea behind the revised design was to create a new striker-fired weapon that would deliver a clean, single-stage explosive. In particular, compared to the first entry in this field, the double VP70, the VP9 wants to feel sharp and simple, responsive and modern. Four years before the start of development of the VP9, H&K had been involved in a similar improvement effort in the area of hammer guns, leading to the P30. Looking at these two models side-by-side clearly shows that many of the P30's successful features have been carried over to the VP9. Most importantly, the frames are clearly identical. You can see some points of reshaping and improvements with the last model, but most of the grip remains the same as the predecessor - the same texture and finger groove, flexible backstrap / side panel system, and more. Besides the most obvious difference with the P30, the flagship hammer, it also differs in some other key areas, such as a slightly higher axis and other trigger options such as double action / single action or double action only.
Plus the Comp Tracker muzzle device, designed for H&K by Parker Gunung Mesin, brings the Tactical model to about the same height as the long slide type.
Although P30 has its fans, the design has become unique with the arrival of VP9. Since the first release, another model has been added. Now in addition to the standard model, you can have the SK subcompact version, appropriately called .40-caliber VP40, the tactical model, long slide "L", and now the new Cog version. As you can see above, we've covered some of these in the past. So why the new review now? When H&K came to our GunFest event this past January, they told us all about the new VP9 series updates for 2020 and 2021. These include better sights, slides that fit optics throughout the series, a longer slide conversion kit, and better magazines. . Because of this change, they asked if we could provide an updated review, and I was happy to oblige. Today's exam focuses on two models that TFB does not cover as much depth as other versions. For the past few months, I've been getting into the L (long slide) and the VP9 Tactical.

Here you can see the difference between the L model's regular long sight and the long compression sight provided by the Tactical model, which compliments the factory barrel nicely.
The main component of H&K to listen to its customers and stay in the demand of the market is the brand Optik Siap. In my opinion, today if the manufacturer does not offer MRDS factory cut on their weapons, at least as an option (if not as standard), they go back. Red dot conversion is doing well, and the science of optics in the hands of the side gaining wide acceptance in the industry and training professionals, from.
